Big purrs to Pamela Kay and Ben Bischoff for again allowing me to photograph a pair of rehabilitated bobcats, this time with my daughter who is becoming quite the photographer in her own right.
An unreal experience that proved to be an event for all that was not expected.
Both cats sat in their cages for quite some time as they adjusted to the new surroundings.
Finally, Ben and Pam gently tilted their cages one at a time to persuade them that it was time to get on with their new lives in the wild.
The first, bigger bobcat finally sauntered off into the woods after several wary looks at us all, leaving the second to tarry for every bit of a half hour.
When it finally left the enclosure it decided to lay on the ground and preen for us, steadily growling when Lee Celano from The Daily Advertiser or myself would approach for a closer photo.
Pam and Ben both mentioned that they had only seen it's face during the brief rehabilitation period as it recovered from a paw caught in a leg hold trap and expected it to bolt from the cage.
Life lessons. Kerry Griechen, Wildlife photographer 7-17

Big purrs to wildlife and commercial photographer, Kerry Griechen, for accompanying LBR on several AKP bobcat graduation releases, including one in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy. He's passed his talents and appreciation of nature and wildlife on to his daughter, Stephani, a photographer following in his footsteps. It was a pleasure to have her accompany him on LBR's last release.
